Parking Day 2008 is coming to Oak Cliff September 19th, 2008. For one evening the Bishop Arts District will gain a pocket park for everyone to enjoy.
This public art installment will be used to highlight the efforts to improve the quality of life in the area through alternative transportation options, community gardens, and other green initiatives. Area businesses are also welcome to join the fun and set up their own installations.
Conceived by REBAR, a San Francisco-based art collective, PARK(ing) Day is a one-day, global event centered in San Francisco where artists, activists, and citizens collaborate to temporarily transform parking spots into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public parks. In 2007 there were over 200 Parks created in over 50 cities.
Hope to see you there!
